Will Smith and the cast of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reunited on Snapchat to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the popular show, and to pay tribute to actor James Avery, who played the beloved uncle Phil.

The “I’m a Legend” actor gathered his co-stars Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks), Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey), DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz) and Daphne Maxwell Reid (second Aunt Vivian) for the first time in decades in an emotive virtual reunion.
The group shared some memories, and reacted to clips including the best moments of the nineties sitcom.
Smith and Co. got emotional when the mashup featured some of uncle Phil’s best scenes.
Avery (uncle Phil), who passed away in 2013 at the age of 68 from a heart surgery, was a fundamental piece on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.
The episode was part from a Smith’s Snapchat series called “Will From Home”.
Smith shared the emotive video of Avery on Instagram alongside a touching message.
The actor posted: “Our show wouldn’t have been HALF what it was without the talent and light that was James Avery. We all love and miss you, James.”
“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” originally aired on NBC from 1990 to 1996.
The American sitcom created by Quincy Jones, Andy and Susan Borowitz became an instant hit, and soon extended its reach when started being distributed worldwide.
The series is considered one of the best TV shows of the nineties.
