The post-apocalyptic adaptation of “The Last of Us” for HBO has chosen its director.<\/p>\n

A winning team for HBO’s “The Last of Us”<\/h2>\n
Johan Renck, the Emmy-winning director behind the popular HBO TV show “Chernobyl”, has signed to direct the first episode of the series adaptation of the action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog.<\/p>\n
Renck, known for his work on “Breaking Bad”, “The Walking Dead” or “Vikings”, will reunite with its HBO “Chernobyl” team, including creator Craig Mazin.<\/p>\n
They will join forces with the game’s writer, and creative director, Neil Druckmann, to helm the project’s pilot episode.<\/p>\n
“The Last of Us” version for HBO will also have “Game of Thrones” executive producer, Carolyn Strauss on board.<\/p>\n

“The Last of Us”, the new post-apocalyptic thriller for HBO<\/h2>\n
Based on the 2013 survival horror adventure game published by Sony, HBO’s “The Last of Us” tells the story of a smuggler named Joel who is hired to escort a 14-year-old girl named Ellie out of an oppressive quarantine zone.<\/p>\n
The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic United States, 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed.<\/p>\n
The pair has to travel across the country while defending themselves against hostile humans and hordes of cannibals.<\/p>\n
The goal: find together a cure for a deadly pandemic.<\/p>\n
No official date has been announced yet, but the TV series is expected to arrive on HBO by the end of 2021.<\/p>\n
“The Last of Us: Part II”, the long-awaited sequel game developed by Naughty Dog, will be released exclusively on PS4 on June 19.<\/p>\n
