Before the concert, we had the opportunity to interview Lena Scissorhands, the iconic vocalist of Infected Rain, for an exclusive interview with Hot BuZz (Mag).

We talked about the Motocultor Across Europe Tour 2025, the secrets behind the latest album, Time (Napalm Records, 2024), the joys of winning several FemMetal Awards 2024, the adventure of touring with her dog, Luna, and her interests outside the band.

With Lena Scissorhands, Vidick (guitars and cover artist), and Eugene Voluta (drums) leading the charge, Infected Rain has embraced an exciting new chapter by welcoming Alice Lane as their new bassist. This revamped lineup has brought fresh energy and a renewed sense of creativity, setting the stage for the band’s next evolution.

The frontwoman went on to share her thoughts on the band’s constant drive to push boundaries.

“It’s very important for us to bring emphasis on time because we’re all getting a little older. We’ve been in the music industry for a while; this is our sixth album. There’s been some evolution, some metamorphosis, even inside the band and inside each one of us as musicians.

“Alice Lane brought something new to the band, some sort of balance. I feel like the right things lined up, making us think about our careers and our lives as people, and as artists. I’m really proud of “Time”, actually.”

Lena discussed how “Time” reflects a step forward in the band’s musical journey, highlighting a more organic songwriting process and a renewed energy with the new lineup.

“Every single song somehow has the theme of time embroidered in it. Time is present as a theme in each song because time is the only thing we all have in common. It’s the only thing that really makes us rich, right? It’s not money—it’s the time that we have. Some people have less time, and some people have more, but today, you and I have this time, and we chose to do this. This is the privilege. We get to choose how to spend our time and what to do with it.”

During the interview, she also expressed gratitude after winning multiple FemMetal Awards in 2024, including Best Metal Act, Best Album for “Time”, Best Release Artwork for “Time”, Best Brutal Vocals (Lena), and Best Instrument Player (Alice Lane).

Life on the road with Lena’s dog, Luna

While discussing life on the road, Lena offered a glimpse into her travels with a special companion—her dog, Luna.

“Having my dog with me has changed many things in my touring routine, mood, and spiritually. I have a few medical issues, and my dog is not only my companion, but she’s also my savior. She’s trained to help me if something happens. She’s saved my life many times, and it’s quite scary for me to travel or even go to a store without her. She provides reassurance, company, and peace of mind.”

“My favorite part to be honest is coming back from the stage to the backstage, where she waits for us. I give her a big hug, and it’s so heartwarming,” Lena added. “My entire band gives her pats, loves, and kisses. It’s such a positive thing to come back to.”

Infected Rain and the Motocultor Across Europe Tour 2025: A big celebration of metal

The Motocultor Across Europe Tour 2025 brings together five exceptional female-fronted bands, creating a multicultural celebration of metal.

Alongside Infected Rain, co-headliners Semblant are leading this potent lineup, while Elyose, Skin on Flesh, and Miruthan offer a great variety of metal sounds and influences.

Lena expressed her excitement about this unique collaboration: “We were actually invited. Motocultor is actually a festival in France, where we participated. Everybody was so kind and welcoming, and they had this brilliant idea to put bands on the road together. It’s quite exciting—we’re five bands from different parts of the planet. It’s like a multicultural music get-together. I like it a lot; everything is great.”

The tour itself has become a whirlwind of energy, with each stop offering fans an unforgettable experience.

Lena’s playlist and movie picks: Björk and “Nosferatu”

Lena also opened up about her current music and movie preferences.

When it comes to music, she recently rediscovered an artist she now adores: “There’s an artist I’ve really been liking lately—Björk. I never gave her enough credit in my teenagehood, but I remember her being so unique, and I was so curious about her.

“For the past year, I’ve been going back and back into her music and I absolutely love Björk. She’s just fucking brave with her looks, her vocals, her lyrics—it’s fantastic to see. I’m sad in the past I didn’t give her enough attention. I knew about her, of course, everybody did, but lately, I’ve been really digging more and more into her music.”

“But it’s never too late, right?” we said.

“Yes, music is eternal,” she added.

As for movies, Lena has a favorite one right now: “I do have a movie I want the entire world to watch—it’s the new “Nosferatu” movie.”

“I think it’s one of the best modern releases. I was speechless by the work of the actors, the director, and the picture, the colors. It’s a piece of art. It’s insane. I can’t wait to watch it again. It’s absolutely beautiful. All of a sudden, you’re part of something so magical. And don’t worry if you’re not a big fan of horror—it’s actually more of a Gothic thriller. It doesn’t have like too many jump scares or anything; it’s a really nice vampire story; a Gothic love story.”

“Nosferatu,” starring Lily-Rose Depp and Bill Skarsgård, is now playing in theaters.
