Californian hard rock band Linkin Park released yesterday its fifth studio album, “Living Things” (Warner Bros. Records), in which they get back to its nu-metal roots and combine electronic sounds.
After over 10 years rocking stages from East to West and selling more than 50 million albums worldwide, the quintet return with an album that proudly takes Linkin Park’s hardcore fans to familiar territory.
When asked recently about the band’s new born music piece, which has spent about 11 months to come to live, Chester Bennington said that it “combines elements from their previous four studio albums to create a new sound.”
The album’s production was handled by Rick Rubin, who has worked with other A-list artists such as U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against The Machine, Jay-z or Metallica, and Mike Shinoda, who both co-produced two of the bands previous records, “Minutes to Midnight” (Warner Bros. Records, Machine Shop, 2007) and “A Thousand Suns” (Warner Bros. Records, 2010).
The first single Burn It Down, which has already hit radio stations across the globe, is one of the surprises Bennington and Co. will give to their fans this year.
