Linkin Park’s groundbreaking “Hybrid Theory” not only put the Californian sextet on the map, but it also defined a new generation of music that combined nu metal with rap, rock, electronica and hip-hop. All wrapped up with powerful lyrics masterfully intoned by Bennington’s unique voice.

The album soon gained global recognition. It was praised by both music critics and audiences.

The band sold 27 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling rock album of the 21st century and the best-selling debut since Guns N’ Roses‘ “Appetite for Destruction” (Geffen, 1987).

The singles released: Papercut, In The End, Crawling and One Step Closer became instant hits and, in time, have turned into four of the biggest nu metal and rap-rock anthems of all times.

Even today, their early songs are the most streamed worldwide.
