A live-action TV show based on “Assassin’s Creed” universe is currently in development at Netflix.
The streaming service announced today a deal with Ubisoft to develop an epic adaptation of the international best-selling video game franchise.
Netflix will make live-action and animated adaptations of “Assassin’s Creed”
The series will expand into different formats. The first one will be a genre-bending live action adaptation. The others will dive into anime and animation.
While the series is currently in the search for a showrunner, it has been confirmed that Ubisoft Film & Television’s Jason Altman and Danielle Kreink will be working as executive producers.
Talking about the new series for Netflix, Jason Altman, Head of Ubisoft Film & Television, said: “For more than 10 years, millions of fans around the world have helped shape the “Assassin’s Creed” brand into an iconic franchise.
“We’re thrilled to create an “Assassin’s Creed” series with Netflix and we look forward to developing the next saga in the “Assassin’s Creed” universe.”

The first installment of the “Assassin’s Creed” video game series was launched in 2007 and, after that, 11 titles have been released. So far, the franchise has sold over 155 million copies worldwide.
The action-packed video game franchise has jumped into other media formats.
The story was adapted into a film in 2016, starring Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Brendan Gleeson and Jeremy Irons.
You can currently find spin-off games for consoles and mobiles. There are graphic novels, book series and even an encyclopedia inspired on the “Assassin’s Creed” universe.
An upcoming video game named “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” is set for release on November 10, 2020.
The game will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store on PC, UPLAY+ and Stadia.
