Keanu Reeves debuts as a comic writer with “BRZRKR”

Movie star Keanu Reeves will release his first action-packed comic book this fall under BOOM! Studios’ label.

The “John Wick” actor is co-writing a 12-issues brutally violent limited series entitled “BRZRKR” that tells the story of an immortal warrior’s fight through the ages.

Reeves is working in collaboration with New York Times bestselling writer of “MIND MGMT” Matt Kindt, the acclaimed Marvel‘s Secret Warrior artist Alessandro Vitti, “BRPD” colorist Bill Crabtree, and Hellboy’s letterer Clem Robins.

In “BRZRKR”, Reeves and Co. narrate the journey of a half-mortal and half-God warrior known as Berzerker who has been wandering the world for centuries battling enemies.

In modern-day, Berzerker works for the U.S. government fighting the battles too dangerous for anyone else in exchange for the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence.

Talking about his upcoming comic book series, Reeves said: “I have loved comics since I was a young kid and they have been a significant influence on me artistically.

“To have the chance to create “BRZRKR” and collaborate with legends in the industry like writer Matt Kindt, artist Alessandro Vitti, color artist Bill Crabtree, letterer Clem Robins, and conceptual/cover artist Rafael Grampá – along with the great folks at BOOM! Studios – is a dream come true.”

“BRZRKR #1” will be released in October 2020, and will be purchased at local comic book shops (find the nearest to you at comicshoplocator.com) and BOOM! Studios webstore.

Digital copies will be available on providers like iBooks, Google Play, comiXology, and Madefire.

A virtual preview of never-before-seen interior art and a behind-the-scenes information will be presented on BOOM! Studios panel at Comic-Con@Home next July 26.
